As he looked across the endless sands of Tralklos VII, Kel Trin sighed in exasperation. The heat of the two suns was finally getting to him, and it was almost mid day. He needed to get back to the caves that he was calling home for the moment before the heat became treacherous. His whole body was sweating, and he could feel his skin burn beneath the endless waves of energy that plagued this dry planet.
As he turned to head back to his camp, a glinter in the sand caught his eye. He stopped and moved the sand around with is rough and weathered hand. He uncovered a smooth silver surface. Intruiged, he continued to move the sand away, despite the heat. After a few minutes, he uncovered a giant circular portal, at least ten feet across. Looking at the strange markings on the edges, he realized what he had found. It's just like the one at Beta site! I've gotta tell the crew!
Kel bolted for his camp and his fellow archealogists, hoping that they could confirm what he had just found. If so, this portal could lead to places unknown...
